The 1Florida ADRC is committed to the highest ethical standards in all our research activities. We view the protection of your personal and health information not just as a legal requirement, but as a fundamental part of the trust you place in our Center.

- Standardized Protections: All research is conducted following the highest research standards of rigor and transparency.
- Secure Data Management: We utilize secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms to store and manage all clinical, imaging, genetic and biomarker data collected during your visits.
- Anonymized Sharing: When data is shared with other investigators or the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) to support global discovery, it is “coded” meaning your name and personal identifying information are removed to ensure your identity remains private.
- Informed Consent: Our team ensures all consent processes are handled clearly and thoroughly according to local and state laws, providing extra support for participants who may have cognitive impairment to ensure they and their families are fully informed.
- Ethical Training: Every scientist, staff member and trainee undergoes mandatory training in research conduct and ethics.
